A Meteorite from the Heavens

First discovered in 1906 near the Arctic circle in Sweden, the Muonionalusta meteorite features the nickel and iron crystals known as Widmanstatten Patterns that only form in outer space over millions of years of extremely slow cooling. Only 5% of all found meteorites are of iron composition. Radiometric dating studies have placed its age at around 4.5 billion years old.
