An ancient relative of the chambered nautilus, ammonites became extinct along with the dinosaur around 65 million years ago. This species was very prolific with some shells being over 4 feet in diameter. In medieval Europe, fossilised ammonites were thought to be petrified coiled snakes, and were called "snakestones".

Our example measures about 1" tall x .75" wide and is set in a handcrafted sterling silver frame. Your pendant will arrive on your choice of necklace along with a descriptive card about your 65 million year old treasure.
